Printing in Labs
Starting spring semester 2006, the Pharos (Pay-For-Print) system changed over to a new payment system. For all faculty, staff and students, this new system utilizes your App Express account via your AppCard (ASU ID). For all other users, you can obtain a print payment card at any of the vending card machines listed below. The gold Media Service copy cards will no longer work with this new print system, but they will still be needed for copy machines across campus.
Printing Information for Students
Students already have an active App Express account. Students can add money to their account at the Food Services counter located on the bottom floor of Trivette Hall or at any of the vending card machines listed below. This account can also be used for purchases at the bookstore, cafeteria, snack machines, etc.
Printing Information for Faculty and Staff
Faculty and staff members will need to activate their App Express account. This can be done at the Food Services counter located on the bottom floor of Trivette Hall. This account will deduct directly from your monthly paycheck.
Departmental Print Payment Cards
Departmental gold card money transfers can be handled at the Food Services counter located on the bottom floor of Trivette Hall. Departments will initially need to buy a print card at Food Services in person. After that, departments can add money to any print payment card by calling Food Services at #3061. Please have your budget code ready when conducting these transactions with Food Services.
Transferring money from gold copy cards to your App Express Account
You may switch money from the gold print cards to your App Express account at the Food Services counter located on the bottom floor of Trivette Hall. Just bring in your gold print cards to the Food Services counter and the money amounts from those cards will be transferred to your App Express account. Please remember that the gold print cards will still be usable in copy machines across campus.
Vending Card machines and locations on campus
Vending machines are available where you obtain print payment cards or add money to your App Express account. These machines are located in the following locations:
- Main floor reference area of Belk Library and Information Commons
- Student Union Computer Lab (on 2nd floor)
You may also add money to your App Express account at the Food Services counter located on the bottom floor of Trivette Hall.
Refunds for printing errors
Refunds will be given for certain printing problems that are out of the control of the user. You will need to take evidence of the printing error to the Media Services department located on the bottom floor of Old Belk Library to get your refund. You will be required to fill out a credit form to describe the print problem.
